Our Beginning
Quarts Chemical Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 22 March 1984, beginning its journey in Malaysia’s water treatment and specialty chemical industry.
From the start, the company was built around a practical understanding of industrial requirements and the importance of dependable supply, sound technical knowledge, and long-term customer relationships.
Over the years, Quarts Chemical has grown alongside the industries it serves, adapting its product portfolio and capabilities while remaining grounded in the values that shaped the business from the beginning.

The Experience Behind Quarts Chemical
A key part of Quarts Chemical’s foundation came from the experience of its former Managing Director, Woo Foo Ngan.
A qualified chemist registered with the Institute of Chemists Malaysia, he brought more than 25 years of experience in the water treatment chemical industry. Before Quarts Chemical, he began his career with Chemical Laboratory Sdn. Bhd. in 1979 and later served as General Sales Manager, leading technical and sales teams that included chemical engineers, sales chemists, and management personnel.
His experience helped shape the company’s early direction: a business that understood not only the products it supplied, but also the operating realities behind them.
Moving Forward with a New Generation of Leadership
A New Chapter
In 2021, Quarts Chemical entered a new chapter under the leadership of Managing Director Gundol Anak Nuweng.
This transition brought renewed focus to the company’s continued growth while preserving the experience, relationships, and working principles that have guided Quarts Chemical for decades.
Supporting this direction is Kek Sia Pen, who oversees the marketing and distribution of Palintest testing equipment. His experience in business and distribution supports Quarts Chemical’s expanding role in water analysis and monitoring solutions.
Together, the team continues to carry the company forward with a balance of established knowledge and new opportunities.
